How does the singalong work?

Good question. We have no idea. But it does!

The band chooses the songs to perform on a particular night: some good old favourites, some performed for the first time, and some wittily re-worded versions of well-known songs (these go down particularly well at Christmas). Then we print out songbooks for all the guests so there’s no excuse not to join in.

There’s lots of banter, sarcasm, humour, a few costume changes, a bit of drama, Mister Minch's gadgets and bags of audience interaction. It just works!

Check us out on YouTube or, better still, grab your tickets for our next gig. See the pub's What's On page.

Why?

Why? Because it’s a good laugh and a great way to let your hair down. We’ll get you all in the mood and you’ll be making a racket in no time. Simply, it’s good fun and suitable for all ages.

So whether you’re having a birthday, anniversary celebration, wedding reception or just fancy a knees-up one night at the pub, Sing-along-a-Nick will make it work and put a smile on your face.

Where?

We normally perform at The Flowing Spring in Oxfordshire, home of Sing-along-a-Nick, where we've built up a sort of fan club! But we're happy to play anywhere in principle. See Booking Sing-along-a-Nick below.

Who are we?

The Sing-along-a-Nick trio is Nick, clattering on his bright yellow piano and croaking out the vocals to help you along. He is joined by Mr Minch who flicks and twangs his double bass and our new recruit, Bradley Lucas on drums who replaces our long-time guitarist Steve Lester. Steve has decided, for his own sanity, to move on to other guitary things. We wish him well and thank him for the six years of entertainment and musicianship he has brought to the band and our audiences. Bradley brings a new verve to the band as our first permanent drummer, giving the songs an irresistible beat. Come along to our next gig and see for yourself!

  • We’ve been blessed with a medley of other greats joining in over the years, most notably guitarist Steve Lester who was a stalwart member of the band for six years. Previously we enjoyed Paul Hancock on guitar and both Nicky Furlong and Sam Hancock also singing, all of whom featured on our Christmas video of the Christmas Satsuma Song which raised over £1500 for Macmillan and our studio recording of Stuck in the Chimney with You. We also had the joy of Bradley Lucas banging the drums on these recordings.

And in the dim and distant past we also enlisted the help of Claire Mahoney with singing and Peter Crowther on fiddle.

    Videos

We have videos of the trio performing live on our YouTube Channel, SingalongaNick, and on the Flowing Spring's YouTube Channel too, called Flowing Spring Gigs. We also have our amazing video of the Christmas Satsuma Song and, very soon, we'll be releasing our new video of our very own Singalong Song!
